Shock-A-Lots

Ahem. Well here we go...Chocolate covered, candy-coated, hyper-caffeinated, Shock coffee beans. That's truly a mouthful.
So let us look at the practical angle. Hey you! Are you finding that you have zero time to brew coffee? Feel that you are constantly on the run? Want to get ready for a workout? Want to stay up longer while clubbing? Well here you go. And the best part is...the coffee consumer masses are raving that these are so much tastier than other extremely over-priced chocolate covered coffee bean on the market.
In my opinion, if candy companies wanted another product to start rolling in the cash, they would follow Shock Coffee’s footsteps and make an equivalent to coffee bean M&Ms. That’s what a Shock-A-Lot is a lot like. It is a chocolate covered coffee bean candy that has a resemblance of a peanut M&M but with the peanut replaced with a coffee bean and shells colored “radioactive warning sign.”
Just to be sure I wasn’t desperate for chocolate/candy/coffee, I happened to have some “other” chocolate covered coffee beans so I tried those after the Shock-A-Lots. Ladies and gentlemen, there is no comparison. The Shock-A-Lots are worlds better.
Shock-A-Lots can be had in 1oz bags or 2oz tubes from various places around the net (links below) and they are surprisingly affordable. The 1 oz. bag contains the caffeine equivalent of two cups of coffee too – so they are a great-tasting caffeine pick-me-up. As I sit here writing this at 11PM, just having eaten maybe 5 of the beans (not even half a bag), I am buzzing. Probably not the best time to eat these when I have to get up early in the morning for work. Well, like the makers of Shock-A-Lots say, “sleep is overrated”.
If you are like me and like chocolate covered coffee/espresso beans, you will be thanking the heavens for Shock-A-Lots. Even if you are not a huge fan of chocolate covered coffee beans, you will be impressed with these lovely little confections.
Shock-A-Lots come in a bag of around 16 chocolate covered coffee beans that are inside a sugar hard candy shell. When I tried my first one, I proceeded to pour the rest of the bags into my mouth. I find them THAT good. These little candied beans offer a new twist on the classic chocolate covered candy, while delivering a serious kick of energy. The company packaging states that each serving (one bag, 12-16 beans) contains the equivalent of over 2 cups of coffee. I know I am not the only one impressed with that. With those stats, I am guessing that lines up somewhere between 200-240mg of caffeine, which is more than the average energy drink.
If you are looking to try some of these Shock-A-Lots for yourself, you can find them at Chemical Evolution, or you can buy a box (12 bags) straight from the Shock Coffee company website.
